Music in the hospitality industry
Earlier this month, Tidal partnered with hospitality group SBE to bring music streaming in-hotel to the next level. Tidal will curate playlist and stream it in lobby, pool, lounge, restaurant and even bed rooms across key locations (among US and UK).
This partnership is not the first of its kind, several hotel group decided to put music in the center of their strategy. Marriott went all the way to build an in-room music studio inside the W Amsterdam. Accor partnered with festivals and organize concerts in some ibis hotels.
While before TV was one of the most important features in the room, it seems that nowadays music is taking a bigger role in the overall travel experience. We can then imagine that concierges, who yesterday were the go-to person for restaurants recommendation, will become tomorrow curators able to advise on-point playlists and the latest local artist mixtape.
